"It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)

There is something profound about the word "new" tucked right in the middle of that verse. Not recycled. Not leftover. Not what was available after everyone else took their portion. New. Every single morning, God's compassions are fresh, full, and waiting for you.
Think about who wrote these words. Jeremiah was not sitting in a comfortable chair with a cup of coffee watching the sunrise. He was surrounded by the ruins of Jerusalem, watching everything he loved fall apart. The city was gone. The people had been carried away. By every visible measure, God seemed silent. And yet, from that broken place, Jeremiah looked up and chose to remember something: God had not run out of mercy. That is the quiet miracle of this verse. It was written in the rubble.
Here is what that means for you today. Whatever you walked through yesterday, whatever kept you awake last night, whatever weight you are carrying into this Wednesday morning, you did not exhaust God's supply of grace on your way here. His mercies reset. They do not carry yesterday's baggage into today. You are not starting this morning in spiritual debt. You are starting with a full account.
The practical application is simple but it changes everything: begin today by receiving before you try to perform. Before you check your phone. Before you rehearse your to-do list. Before the noise of the day rushes in. Just take a moment and acknowledge that you are standing in fresh mercy. Let that land. Let it actually mean something to you.
Jeremiah called this faithfulness, and he was right. God is not faithful in a passive, distant kind of way. He is faithfully, actively, personally present in your morning. He knew what today would hold before you opened your eyes, and He made sure His compassions arrived first.
You are not alone in this day. You are covered.

Hi, I'm Ryan Vanderford, and I'm so glad you're here. For over a decade, I've had the incredible privilege of serving as the pastor of Hope Chapel, a community built on faith, love, and the belief that hope is never out of reach. Ministry is more than a calling for me. It's a daily reminder that God meets us right where we are. Through every season of life, the highs and the hard days, I've seen firsthand what hope can do in a person's heart, and that's what A Moment of Hope is all about. My prayer is that this little corner of the internet feels like a warm cup of coffee and an encouraging word from a friend. Whether you're walking closely with God or just beginning to find your way, you belong here. So pull up a chair. Let's find hope together.
