"It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22-23, KJV)There is a quiet miracle that happens before most of us ever open our eyes. Before the alarm rings, before the coffee brews, before we remember what day it is, God has already been at work. His mercy has already met the morning. His compassion is already waiting to carry us through whatever comes next.
Jeremiah wrote these words during one of the darkest seasons of his life. The city he loved was in ruins. His people were in captivity. And yet, sitting in the ashes of it all, he found the strength to lift his head and declare that the mercies of the Lord are new every morning. That truth still stands today. Whatever yesterday held, whatever mistakes we carry, whatever burdens made the night feel long, the Lord meets us at sunrise with mercy that has never been used before. It is fresh. It is personal. It is enough.
Make it practical: Take a moment this morning, or right where you are now, to pause before stepping into the noise of the day. Thank God for a mercy that did not run out. If you feel weary, remember that His faithfulness is not tied to your feelings. It is tied to His nature, and He does not change.
If you have a task that feels too big, ask Him for strength for just this day, not the whole week. Jesus told us to pray for our daily bread, not our weekly supply. God gives what we need when we need it, and He knows the difference.
Carry this verse with you today. Write it on a note card. Tape it to your mirror. Let it be the first thing you read and the last thing you whisper. When the day starts pulling at you, return to it. Remind your heart that the God who made the sun rise has not forgotten how to carry you through the hours that follow. He never has, and He never will.
You do not have to be strong enough for tomorrow. You only have to trust Him for today.

Hi, I'm Ryan Vanderford, and I'm so glad you're here. For over a decade, I've had the incredible privilege of serving as the pastor of Hope Chapel, a community built on faith, love, and the belief that hope is never out of reach. Ministry is more than a calling for me. It's a daily reminder that God meets us right where we are. Through every season of life, the highs and the hard days, I've seen firsthand what hope can do in a person's heart, and that's what A Moment of Hope is all about. My prayer is that this little corner of the internet feels like a warm cup of coffee and an encouraging word from a friend. Whether you're walking closely with God or just beginning to find your way, you belong here. So pull up a chair. Let's find hope together.
