GOD CAN WORK IT OUT

Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Life does not always unfold the way we expected. There are moments when doors close unexpectedly, relationships become strained, finances get tight, or reports come back with news we never wanted to hear. In those seasons, it can be easy to ask questions like, “God, where are You?” or “Why is this happening?” But Romans 8:28 reminds us of a powerful truth that every believer needs to hold onto: God is still working, even when we cannot see it yet.

The Apostle Paul did not say that every situation would feel good. He did not say every circumstance would make sense immediately. He said that all things work together for good. That means God is constantly moving behind the scenes, weaving every moment, every setback, every delay, and every victory into His greater purpose for your life.

Sometimes the very thing that feels like a setback becomes the setup for God’s next blessing. The season that tested your faith may become the testimony that encourages someone else. The waiting season may actually be preparing you for something greater than you imagined. For believers in Olive Branch, throughout DeSoto County, and across the Memphis metro area, this promise still stands true today. God has not forgotten you. He has not overlooked your prayers. He is still faithful.

Paul specifically says this promise belongs “to them that love God.” This is the confidence of those who continue trusting God even when they do not fully understand what He is doing. Faith is not pretending everything is perfect. Faith is choosing to believe God is still in control when life feels uncertain.

That means you do not have to face this week in fear or panic. God already knows about the unexpected expense, the difficult conversation, the family burden, and the unanswered question. Nothing catches Him off guard. He called you according to His purpose, and His purpose for your life is not failing.

You may feel delayed, but you are not denied.
You may feel stretched, but you are not abandoned.
You may not understand the process, but God understands the purpose.

Today, let go of the pressure to figure everything out on your own. God never asked you to carry tomorrow’s burden by yourself. Your responsibility is to trust Him, love Him, and remain faithful. His responsibility is to work all things together for your good.
And He is very good at what He does.

Practical
Take a few minutes today and write down one situation in your life that feels uncertain, painful, or unresolved. Beside it, write this declaration: “God is working this together for my good.”
Every time fear, anxiety, or discouragement tries to rise up this week, go back to that declaration. Speak it over your home. Pray it over your family. Remind yourself that God is still writing the story, and He has not finished yet.

Key Scripture“Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” Psalm 37:4-5

When Trust Feels Heavy
There are mornings when you wake up carrying yesterday’s weight right back into a brand-new day. The stress about finances, relationships, health, family pressures, or an uncertain future can settle on your spirit before your feet ever hit the floor. You know God is faithful. You believe His Word. But trusting Him in the middle of a difficult season can still feel overwhelming.

That is exactly why Psalm 37 is so powerful. David writes these words as a reminder that peace is not found in controlling everything around us. Peace is found in delighting ourselves in the Lord. The word “delight” in the original Hebrew carries the idea of becoming soft, pliable, and moldable in the hands of God. It speaks of finding joy in His presence and allowing Him to shape your heart. This is not just a Sunday morning relationship with God. This is daily surrender. It is waking up and choosing Him again before the distractions of life begin pulling at your attention.
To delight yourself in the Lord means He becomes your greatest treasure. His voice matters more than fear. His promises become louder than your anxiety. His presence becomes more important than your plans.

When Your Desires Begin to Change
One of the most beautiful things about walking closely with God is how He transforms your heart over time. At first, we often come to God asking Him to bless our plans, fix our problems, or open certain doors. But the more we delight ourselves in Him, the more our desires begin to shift. The things that once consumed us start losing their grip. Priorities change. Perspective changes. What mattered most yesterday suddenly does not seem nearly as important anymore.

That is the power of God working within us.

Psalm 37 does not teach that God is a genie granting every passing wish. It teaches that when your heart becomes aligned with His heart, He begins producing desires inside of you that reflect His purpose for your life. Suddenly, your prayers become deeper. Your faith becomes stronger. Your trust becomes steadier. And what God is doing in you becomes just as important as what God is doing for you.

Roll the Burden Onto Him
Verse 5 says:
“Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”
The word “commit” literally means to roll something onto someone else. It paints the picture of taking a heavy burden off your shoulders and placing it into God’s hands.
Some people are exhausted because they are carrying things God never asked them to carry alone.
You were never meant to carry tomorrow’s worries, everyone else’s expectations, and the pressure of trying to control every outcome. God invites you to roll those burdens onto Him.

Then comes the next step: trust.
Trust when you cannot see the full picture. Trust when the answer has not arrived yet. Trust when the timing feels slower than you hoped. Trust when circumstances do not make sense.
And then watch what God does. The promise is not always immediate. The promise is not always comfortable. But His Word is certain: “He shall bring it to pass.” God has never failed His people. His track record is perfect.

Practical Application for Today
Before you scroll through social media, check emails, or start your to-do list this morning, spend five intentional minutes thanking God simply for who He is.
Not for what He can give you.
Not for what you need Him to do.
Just for Him.
Thank Him for His faithfulness.
Thank Him for His mercy.
Thank Him for His presence.
Thank Him for never walking away from you.
Let worship become your first response instead of worry.
That simple act of delight can completely change the atmosphere of your day.

How Proverbs 16:3 Changes Everything About Your Morning

Give It to God First: How Proverbs 16:3 Changes Everything About Your Morning
"Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established."
Proverbs 16:3 (KJV) If you’ve been searching for peace of mind, direction from God, or a daily devotional rooted in the Bible, this word is for you today.

Most People Don’t Wake Up With Peace, They Wake Up With Pressure
The moment your eyes open, your mind starts running. The meeting. The bills. The decision you’ve been putting off. The relationship that still feels unresolved.
Before your feet even hit the floor, and find your coffee you’re already carrying the weight of the day. And if we’re honest, most of us try to figure it all out before we ever talk to God.
That’s where the exhaustion begins.

Why Starting Your Day Without God Feels So Heavy
Solomon, one of the wisest men to ever live, understood something that most people in today’s busy world are still learning the hard way. Trying to manage life in your own strength will wear you out.
That is why he wrote: "Commit thy works unto the LORD…" Proverbs 16:3 (KJV) That word commit is powerful. It paints the picture of rolling something heavy off your shoulders and onto someone stronger. Not casually mentioning it to God. Not praying about it after you’ve already stressed over it. But giving it to God first. Before the stress. Before the overthinking. Before the anxiety sets in.

The Secret to Mental Peace and Clarity That Most People Miss
Look at the promise tied to that obedience: "…and thy thoughts shall be established."
Proverbs 16:3 (KJV)
God is not just offering peace in your circumstances. He is offering peace in your mind. Your thoughts shall be established. That means your mind becomes steady instead of scattered. Your thoughts become clear instead of chaotic. Your emotions become settled instead of reactive.
If you’ve been searching for how to stop overthinking or how to hear God more clearly, this is the key. Peace does not come from having everything figured out. Peace comes from knowing who you gave it to.

God Isn’t Waiting for You to Figure It Out, He’s Waiting for You to Surrender It
So many people miss this.
God is not waiting for you to solve the problem. He is waiting for you to surrender it. There is a difference. One keeps you spinning.
The other puts your life on solid ground. When you give something to God first: You stop carrying weight He never asked you to carry. You gain clarity you cannot create on your own. You position yourself to hear His voice. That is how faith works in real life.

A New Month, A New Pattern, Starting Today
It’s a new day. A fresh start.
Do not step into it repeating the same patterns that left you exhausted.
Do not wake up overwhelmed.
Do not start your day stressed.
Do not carry what God never asked you to carry.
Build a new habit.
Give it to Him first.
Before the emails.
Before the phone calls.
Before the decisions.
Before the news.

Practical: Start Tomorrow Morning
You do not need an hour-long prayer routine.
You need a moment and a willing heart.
Before your day begins, before you reach for your phone, say this out loud:
Lord, I commit this day to You.
I commit this decision to You.
I commit this conversation to You.
I commit my work, my family, and my future to You.
Establish my thoughts today.
It does not have to be polished. It just has to be real.
Watch what happens.
Your anxiety begins to decrease.
Your clarity begins to increase.
Your confidence in God’s direction grows.

Final Thought
You do not need a better plan. You need a better starting point. "Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established." Proverbs 16:3 (KJV)
Give it to Him first. And watch how God establishes everything that follows.
