April 12, 2026 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)

There's something powerful about the word expected. Not hoped-for. Not maybe. Not if everything goes right. Expected. God doesn't stumble into your future. He's already there, and He has already planned something good for you.

Jeremiah wrote these words to a people in captivity. They were far from home, surrounded by uncertainty, wondering if God had forgotten them altogether. Sound familiar? Maybe you're not in Babylon, but you might be in the middle of a season that feels just as disorienting. A waiting period. A hard chapter. A stretch of life where the end is nowhere in sight.

And right into the middle of that silence, God speaks: I've got this. I've got you.

He doesn't promise that the road will be easy. He doesn't say the captivity will end tomorrow. But He does say, clearly, firmly, tenderly, that His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace. He is not indifferent to your situation. He is not surprised by it. He is working through it.

Here's the practical take: when anxiety creeps in and the enemy starts whispering that it's all falling apart, come back to this verse. Write it on a card. Put it on your mirror. Speak it out loud. Let the truth of God's intention for your life drown out the noise of fear and doubt.

Hope is not wishful thinking. It's confident trust in a God who has never once failed to keep His word. He kept it for Israel. He'll keep it for you.
Don't give up on the chapter you're in. God is still writing the story. And friend, the ending is going to be good.
