Our History —
Hope Chapel UPC was founded on prayer, passion, and a powerful vision: to connect our community with hope. Under the leadership of Ryan and Lisa Vanderford, Hope Chapel held its first service on April 12, 2015, in the historic Cotton Gin in Old Towne Olive Branch. It was a humble beginning—but the Spirit of God moved mightily, and lives were immediately impacted.
Just two months after launching, the church quickly outgrew its original space and relocated to a storefront in the Mid South Shopping Center. Though the walls were simple, the vision was strong. People came hungry, and God continued to add to the church.
In May 2018, God opened another door, allowing us to secure our first permanent location at 8608 MS-178 in Olive Branch, Mississippi. This space became a spiritual home—a sanctuary of worship, discipleship, and healing.
Throughout every season, our mission has remained the same: To Love. To Grow. To Serve. Our vision is clear: to connect our community with HOPE—the kind of hope that only Jesus can give. Hope Chapel is more than a church; it’s a family. A place where every generation is welcomed, empowered, and equipped to walk in their God-given purpose.
And now, we are stepping into a new chapter. We are currently preparing for our next location—a space that will help us expand our reach, disciple more families, and lay down stronger foundations of hope for generations to come. From one service in the Cotton Gin to a growing body of believers on mission, God has proven faithful every step of the way.
The story isn’t over. The journey continues. And the best is still ahead.

Our Future —
Hope Chapel is entering a new and exciting season as we begin preparations for "Foundations of Hope"—a capital campaign that reflects our faith, vision, and commitment to future generations. For nearly a decade, God has been writing a story of growth, restoration, and revival through our church. Now, as we step into this next chapter, we believe the foundation we lay today will become the launching pad for greater ministry, expanded outreach, and lasting legacy. "Foundations of Hope" is more than a fundraiser; it's a faith movement calling us to build something that will outlive us—for our children and their children.
After much prayer and planning, Hope Chapel is thrilled to announce we are under contract on property and acerage in Olive Branch, Mississippi. A historic and beautiful facility will become the new home for our congregation as we relocate from our current location. The opportunity to occupy a space already dedicated to worship and community is a divine alignment that only God could orchestrate. With ample room for growth, updated infrastructure, and space for expanded ministries, this building will serve as a place of spiritual transformation and family restoration.
This strategic position offers us room to dream boldly and build intentionally. The facility and property holds the potential to become a true hub of hope for the city of Olive Branch and beyond. We believe God is entrusting us with this territory to raise up foundations for many generations—restoring paths, repairing breaches, and establishing a dwelling place for His Spirit and His people. The journey begins now—and forward is the only option.

UPDATES
Picture
We are excited to share an encouraging update on the Foundations of Hope Capital Campaign! As we continue moving forward in faith toward the purchase and renovation of our future home on Germantown Road, the response from our Hope Chapel family has been inspiring. Many individuals and families have already made sacrificial commitments, and we are beginning to see the foundations of generosity take shape. Each pledge represents a brick of faith and hope for future generations. As we approach the August 10 sacrificial offering and the October 5 culmination of Phase 1 commitments, we are believing God will continue to stir hearts to invest in a legacy of worship, outreach, and spiritual transformation for our city and beyond. Let’s keep building together—because hope has a foundation, and we are laying it now.
