Pastors Ryan and Lisa Vanderford are the founding pastors of Hope Chapel UPC, located in Olive Branch, Mississippi. Hope Chapel, a growing church located in Olive Branch, MS, serving families across DeSoto County and the greater Memphis area. Since launching Hope Chapel in 2015, they have faithfully served the church and surrounding community with a passion for sharing hope, building strong families, and leading people into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
Pastor Ryan brings practical, Bible-centered preaching with a heart for spiritual growth, leadership development, and community transformation. Lisa is deeply committed to discipleship, hospitality, and nurturing the spiritual health of families and individuals. Together, they lead with authenticity, compassion, and a shared vision to see lives changed through the power of God’s Spirit.
Ryan and Lisa believe every person has a God-given purpose, and their ministry is centered on helping people discover hope, grow in faith, and live out that calling. Their leadership continues to shape Hope Chapel as a life-giving, Spirit-filled church serving Olive Branch and the Mid-South. BIO
Ryan L. Vanderford was born May 2 in Memphis, Tennessee. He grew up between Mississippi and Missouri, where he first learned the value of faith, family, and hard work. He graduated from high school in 2000 and went on to attend Gateway College of Evangelism in Florissant, Missouri, where he received training for the ministry and earned an Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies in 2002. In 2025, he completed a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in Finance from Liberty University.
Bro. Vanderford received his ministerial license with the United Pentecostal Church International in 2002. In the early years of his ministry, served as assistant pastor and youth pastor under Pastor R.C. Craft in Athens, Alabama and then traveled as an evangelist for nearly five years, preaching in eighteen states.
In 2002, Ryan and Lisa were married in Menasha, Wisconsin. The Lord has blessed their home with three children — Rylee, Jacelyn, and Londyn. Together, Ryan and Lisa have shared a common vision for ministry and have labored side by side in the work of God.
In August 2011, Bro. Vanderford accepted the pastorate of The Pentecostals of New Hebron in New Hebron, Mississippi, where he served faithfully until January 2015. In January 2015, Bro. Vanderford and his family stepped out by faith to plant a new work in Olive Branch, Mississippi. Hope Chapel held its first service on Sunday, April 12, 2015, in the historic Cotton Gin in Old Towne Olive Branch. In June 2015, the growing congregation relocated to the Mid-South Shopping Center, and in 2018 the church purchased and remodeled a facility at 8608 Highway 178. Under his leadership, Hope Chapel has grown steadily and reached souls across Olive Branch, Southaven, Hernando, Horn Lake, Byhalia, and the greater Memphis area. In September 2025, Hope Chapel purchased a church property and 29 acres at 8161 Germantown Road and began updating it as the congregation's new permanent home. The church is known for practical, Bible-centered preaching with a heart for spiritual growth, leadership development, and community transformation.
Sis. Lisa Vanderford serves alongside her husband in pastoral ministry, with a particular emphasis on music and leading worship, as well as discipleship, hospitality, and nurturing the spiritual health of families and individuals in the congregation.
On a district level, Bro. Vanderford has served as Alabama District Youth Secretary, Mississippi Youth Promotional Director, and Mississippi North American Missions Promotional Director. He currently serves as Section 3 Men's Ministry Director.
Bro. and Sis. Vanderford continue to reside in Olive Branch, MS, where they pastor Hope Chapel UPC and invest their lives in the work of God.
